Pretty Little ( & BIG) Tags, Tags, Tags!

We buy or create our gifts,

carefully wrap them

and tie a pretty bow

.... now what?

Attach the perfect tag of course! Tags on your gifts not only give information about who the gift is for and from, it can also be a beautiful keepsake. And that's just what I've created here. Meaningful and unusual personally designed  handcrafted gift tags. Or embellishments for scrapbook pages and cards. I love using all the techniques and materials that I can on and scrapbook pages and large projects, to create these little pieces of art.

Not only are they pretty and fun to make, but I love that the recipient can have a keepsake that reminds them of the gift, long after the gift itself may be gone. Like a gifted batch of cookies or brownies, jams or jellies. Or especially for handmade gifts themselves. Have a look in my shop and see all the new holiday and all occasion gift tags that I've created and listed this week. I took my time with them so that the details of each one is carefully crafted and designed.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day! :)

New Item! My Merry Little Christmas Planner

Well Hello There,

It's been a while since my last post. With such a big [and growing] family, life just takes over and my blog just goes to the bottom of my list of "gotta dos". .

But no worries, I haven't completely given up my crafting. Along with my photo jewelry, I've been working on the Christmas Planners for this year. :) I had so many requests for these organizers, outside my Esty shop last year, that I just had make them again for 2012.

These days most of us use our phones for lists and appointments. But during the holidays and special occasion months, the problem with phones is that there is no place for your coupons, receipts, and other must have paper slips that go along with those sales and lists. Especially during the holidays.
This little planner is compact and absolutely complete with everything you'll want to keep track of. It measures approx 6x7 inches. Making this organizer indispensable for keeping your Christmas plans compact and in one place right in your purse or car compartment.

This year's design has even more places to keep your lists with your coupons, receipts, notes, etc, right at your fingertips for all of your wanna dos and gotta dos this busy holiday season. It comes complete with 7 pockets and 15 pages of lists in 9 catagories. Even extra pages for "Charity and Volunteer" work and plans as well as a place for  "Holiday Decor" plans. As well as calendars for November, December and January. And of course all the lists and pockets for cards, meal planning, shopping, and gifts and more. Each category has it's own list for shopping, to match the category with it's own shopping needs.

Have a look at this super useful, handy and durably made little book. Once you use it you won't want to be without it.

Happy Planning!
-Kim

My New Graduation Photo Jewelry/Ads or No Ads

I don't know about you, but have a love/hate relationship with "selling"!! We all know that advertising is how we let others know that we may have just what they are looking for. Right? It even lets some of us know that we may be looking for something, we didn't know we wanted until we found it.
Thus we have ads. We love them when we want what they're advertising. And hate them when we don't.

There lyes my problem with selling my creations. My own personal experience is that, nothing makes me run away faster from buying something, than when it's pushed upon me to buy it!!
As soon as I've created something, even something people have said they are really interested in, I shy away from advertising it, because of my "pushy sales worries". I do want to let others know about what I've made, but where is the line we draw from letting them know and completely turning them off any of my products because of  THE WAY  I let them know??

I do have a shop on Etsy.com. But my promos within it are few and costly. The clients I've acquired thus far, seem very interested in my items. And I really want to let them know about the new Dads and Grads photo jewelry, before that seasonal window closes. So, how do I go about this within that tasteful range of acceptance?

How I wish I had followers who could help with this dilema. :( I feel certain that I'm talking to people just like myself, but who probably have a better idea of how they would like to be approached about something they would really like.

If you are one of those people....please.......comment, comment comment!!!!

Thanks Everyone, and have a very Blessed Memorial Day weekend! :)
-Kim

For the Ones We Love and Lost

For those of you who actually have been looking for me, I am profoundly grateful! I do have so much trouble remaining faithful to my blog. But for what it's worth, I'll always try to be honest about it.

For the last couple of months, things in my life have been insane. Crazy busy trying to be everywhere at once. And that's ok, because crazy busy is my normal life.  But it's also been a sad time for our family. After recently loosing my cousin Connie to a very long battle with cancer, my family also lost my dear Aunt Kat this past Easter Sunday. She struggled to breath for such a long time with lung disease.

Both of these ladies were from two different generations and yet had a very similar, wonderful and profound impact on each life they touched. Now we rely on the gift of their presense in our lives to give us the strength we need to go on without them. They are already incredibly missed!  Sadly still, tonight, Aunt Kat's surviving husband is in the hospital as I write this. He suffered a stroke on Saturday.  He is doing better, but not yet out of the woods. But we remain hopeful and prayerful.

I do so many other things in my life, but they seem so meaningless when someone I love is sick. What once felt productive, just seems like unimportant busy work. Something to do while we wait and pray for good news.

But busy, we must be. For we cannot just sit and worry. We do no good to anyone that way. So, tonight I ask God to be with the my family members who are sick and those who tirelessly care for them. I am thinking of you and praying for you all tonight.

May God Bless you, and know that I love you all,
-Kim

I'm on a Roll Now!

Ever have one of those really bad, sick of it all, wanna give up days? Then catch something in the corner of your eye, that brings it all back into perspective. Like a photo of that sweet little one that's counting on you, at the end of the day. Or your husband or wife that's trying just as hard for you as you are for them. Or maybe it's a word of scripture, where God tells us to "Fear not for I am with you". And then you catch your breath and give it one more try.

That's what I love about these little pendants. They are little messages of hope and love.
There is so much I can do with them.  Words, Scripture, Initials, Photos, Art.  And just wait till you see what I have to show you tomorrow!

I love turning them into all sorts of different things for hanging around our little spaces in life where we need that inspiration. I keep getting these ideas in my head to make them to suit different styles, and age groups, occasions and both genders.
Not to mention, they hit right at the heart of what I love. Creating things that are happy and make others happy. Bringing people together and sharing what we love.  The people, the pets, the words, the scripture and images that just keep us going.

I want to create things that identify and show the world, who we are and what we love! I know, that's asking a lot from a little 1" square pendant. But, we need a little inspiration where ever we can get it.

So, tune in tomorrow and see what I've come up with next! Hope it will move and inspire you too!

In the meantime, here are just a few fun and beautiful images that may identify a little bit of you.

-Blessings to all,
Kim

Who is person and What's She Done Now?

Good Thursday Morning!

Just wanna share....

When it comes to blogs, I've always been a little concerned as to whether anyone is really interested in my personal life. After all, most I think most of the time, my crazy life is probably like other people's. Just different types of crazy. But then I've read quite a bit about getting to know someone this way can benefit readers. The same as it does when I read someone elses blog. When I read about the struggles and triumphs of other people, good or bad news, it helps me relate. Either way, it makes feel more connected. And one thing I think we all may have in common, is the good feelings it can bring to discover that we are not alone.

Well, there are two things I want to tell my readers today. I've been married to the most wonderful man on earth for 35 years now. And I'm betting you all feel the same as I do about your spouse. When they suffer, you suffer for them :( Well, that's where I find he and I, right now. My husband is a business owner. And if you are one or know one, you probably know, that it rarely brings the independant glory most people believe it does. It's a huge responsibility! For your business and it's employees. And the very nature of it, leaves you put yourself...dead last in most every situation. That's where my husband is right now. He's been away at work for almost 2 weeks. It will soon be longer than we've every been apart. But all I can think about that is, how is he holding up. All I can do right now is pray for God to watch over him and keep a vigil here at home.

In the meantime, I have to keep myself busy, so I won't worry so much. And right now, The Lord has lead me to work on something requested of me by my darling Aunt, who is greiving over the lose of her child. My cousin lost her battle with Cancer last week. And my heart is broken, not only for loosing such a fine person, whom I was just beginning to know again, but also broken for my aunt and her family.

However, God's blessings have shown me, there is one thing I can do, that she has asked of me. And that's to organize a Family Reunion. I'm sure I  don't have to tell you, that little project can get very involved. So, I'll be working on that for the next 6 months, along with my Etsy and craft treasures.
I am grateful for lots to keep me busy.

By sharing a little of my life with you day to day,  I really hope to gain is some insight from my readers about it all. From other business owners and their spouses who wait for them and try to help them, to others who have worked on Family Reunions before. People who can relate to those types of things and the thoughts of those who can offer me some much needed perspective.

Tomorrow I'll share my progress of the reunion plans, as well as my husband's heroic efforts for his business and the people he cares about. And add to that the story of the complete chaos of this past week to get you started on my day to day life around here. And how at the end of the day, prayer and faith in God and each other is how we made it... or not!

For now here is my latest creation you'll soon find in my Etsy shop..www.imaginephotocrafts.etsy.com

Blessings to all,
Kim

Look What I've Been Up to...and What's Next...

Dear Paper Crafts,

I have a confession to make. I can't deny it any longer. I have fallen for a new love. Jewelry making! Particularly 'Photo Jewelry'.

As you can see from my spiffy new blog design, that's what I've been up to. Oh I will still be here with more fun and fabulous papercrafts, but cupid wants me to add another love to my life.  This new jewelry design is not only fun to create, but I love how happy it makes everyone. I'm especially excited about the bracelets. I can make those with 7 of whatever photos, images or quotes you would like. You can even choose a specific color background for the quotes images. Even just black and white.  The options are endless! Thus, my new name. "Imagine Photo Crafts". You will also find my Etsy shop has the same new name. There is a list of my new website addresses at the bottom of this post.

I completely adore being Grammie, but with my new love, it was time for a new name. And "Imagine" is exactly what I do best. When I look at almost anything, my instant thought is not only what it is, but what it could be! When you think of it that way, I could quite easily become a hoarder, if I wasn't careful. But thankfully, I hate clutter equally as much as I love creating. So, a place for everything and...well you know.

With my new photo jewelry, you can choose every aspect of the design. From all the various neckwear to choose from, to the type of clasp you prefer. Metal chain to ribbon, cord, or combos of all types of neckwear, at any length you choose. Also, unless you choose a toggle clasp, the neckwear will be designed to easily slide the photo pendant off. This will give you the option of changing it to other ribbon neckwear colors or matching chain. These will also be available in any mix and match design from my additional listings.

Other options will include antique and fun color images of your photos, like sepia and funky tranlucent colors. And images that aren't photos at all, but fun quotes, or a favorite image you may love or be known for.

There will be masculine options too, like leather or suede and cord neckwear. As well as other items for either gender including, keychains, rearview mirror ornaments, bookmarks. Several items that would make awesome personalized gifts for the guys. I love that. We all know how hard it is to shop for our guys. But even guys of any age love photos of their loved ones.

All of this will be available to you through Etsy or plain old email.

This is how it works:
1. Just go to in my Etsy Shop www.imaginephotocrafts.etsy.com and choose the item you'd like personalized with a photo.
2. At check out, in the "notes" box, list all the options you want for your item. If you'd rather I choose. Color and style will be based appropriate to the image you choose. But I do need the length you prefer.
3. Choose a photo and email it to me at kram744@yahoo.com
4. I'll edit and size it, then email you a proof of the how the image will look,
 for your approval.
 That's it!

Be sure to read the photo emailing instructions carefully to get the best image for your jewelry and other items. I'm also working on options that will allow you to order right here from my website.

Be sure to keep checking back here and my new Etsy store for additional new products, and place your order for me to create a custom design that you imagine.

The new places to find me and my new products are:

www.etsy.com/shop/imaginephotocrafts
www.imaginephotocrafts.blogspot.com
www.facebook.com/imaginephotocrafts

Instructions for best results when emailing photos:
For groups of people in your photo, the format of the group will determine the shape of pendant it will best fit. I will send you the recommended shape of pendant when I email your pendant proof.
Do NOT crop your photo ~ it works best if I do that for you.
Close-up shots of people or animals work better than when they are very small in the photo. However, with very clear good quality photos, even a 1 inch square pendant can be created, with an entire group of 5 or 6 people, if they are posed close together. (See example in my Etsy shop)
If you email me your photo, it is the best quality, if you scan your photo at 300 dpi.
If you use a digital camera, take the picture at the highest quality setting.
In addition:  We can sometimes correct minor flaws in your photo or change your photo to a sepia tone or black and white photo at no extra charge.

Finally, various shapes work better with groups of people, depending on how they are posed. Look at your photo and try to determing if the person or group is posed vertically, horizontally or square. If you're not sure, just email it to me and I will edit it and send you my suggestions.
-Blessing to you,
 Kim K.
