New to My Shop... "Cupcake Toppers"

I've been dying to get started on these and now my first batch is ready!! Yummy cupcake toppers made like (what else of course?) cupcakes! I made these on my Cricut, using the From My Kitchen Cartridge. I wanted something elaborate and I like the cupcake on that cartridge because of all the multi layers you can add.

The Cricut allows for multi layering and dimension on most of it's cartridges, making it the perfect machine for creating things like party supplies. That's one of my favorite parts of the Cricut. My favorite paper to use with it is AC Cardstock. I think it's the best beause of the rich colors and quality. All AC paper is solid all the way through and that's what you need for cutting shapes and letters. And as long as you keep sharp blades in your machine, AC paper is best for those tiny cuts too.

When I found GKat Designs, I knew.....Gotta have this one! (Insert squeals of delight here).

Her shop is all about sweet baby girl Hair Bow Holders  with bows and Tote Bags made to look like tutu tutu ballet outfits. They are tutu tutu cute.... (Pun intended)... Which makes me wish I could have more babies. (Well ok, maybe not). But hey, that's what granddaughters are for right? How about Evermore Creative too?  This is definitely a shop after my own heart. Quilling is an art form I've been wanting to learn for a while now. I have the supplies to give it a try, but I have to admit, I feel completely intimidated by it.  The art of quilling is an old and lovely art form which some believe may date back to ancient Egypt. It has been known by many names including paper-rolling, paper-scrolling, filigree, paper mosaic. It is theorized that early quillers rolled their papers on a feather, or quill, hence the name quilling.

My daughter served in the United States Army for 5 long years.  During both of her deployments overseas, there were many conversations about the mail. And believe me, in all of them she expressed that every piece of mail they receive from home is precious to them.

 It mattered not, if the soldiers never knew or met the sender.  Even though they know their families loved and missed them and were naturally very proud of them, still, in many respects, home to a soldier is considered Anywhere, USA. Notes of encouraging words,

gratitude or acknowledgement coming from anyone, would sometimes become the turning point of their day. I could say so much more about this, but the post would be very long. So, let's get right today's shop of the day.....

In this shop, patriotic cards are created to encourage Patriotism and Appreciation for our Troops and their Families. Also to generate an increased passion for the precious freedom that we experience in this great country; and the price that our dedicated Troops and their Families pay each and every day.

Here, you will find a creative variety of ways to say Thank You, Miss You, and God Bless America.  In addition to selling on the website, this shop owner donates Patriotic Cards to non-profit organizations. Cards are currently being sold in non-profit gift shops on military bases at Ft. Leavenworth (KS); Ft. Hood (TX); Ft. Lewis (WA); Pearl Harbor Naval Station (HI); and at my local hospital and senior citizens center.

In my super fun quest of finding great Etsy shops to favor,  looky  what I found today!

Can you believe these adorable things are wedding cake toppers?

Ok, come on... admit it....we all have a little kid in us, especially when we are giddy with new and growing love. This is the time when you can take moment from your "gotta do's" and enjoy the fun part of it all.  Choosing a wedding cake topper for the cake has to go right to the top of the fun list.  Cake toppers are one of my favorite parts of the wedding. They are perfect for respresenting the side of you both that says 'we go together perfectly'. Well, you can't have much more unique kind of fun with that, than these precious little critters.

Here you will find the most creative cake toppers you can imagine from Giraffe Love to Turtle Love and Ninja Love.  And yes, they also have little people too.  They even have clay figures that aren't for wedding cakes, or even cakes at all, like Super Hippo Heros, that can be customized to order. Just for the fun of it.

They are made by hand using non-toxic polymer clay. All colors are custom mixed. No molds are used...truly one-of-a-kind from her imagination. Each piece takes at least 4 hours to make from start to finish. There are even some made into wedding favors.

My New Shop A Day Series

Hello World,

How cool is it that I can write this and literally anyone in the whole world can read it?!
Today I'm introducing something I've been working on for a while to help all my fellow crafters over at Etsy.com, and I'm sooo excited about it!

HAVE YOU VISITED ETSY LATELY?

It's a world of unique and beautiful things made with love and patience, hardwork and talent. Things you just can't find in your local Big Box store. But would sooo love to own, as well as things you'll be excited to give for the holidays and all year round.

 I do have a shop of my own there. And I love making things and listing them. But I'll admit,  I'm much more of a "how can I help" person than a "sales" person. Even though those two things kinda go together. 

 Since I've become an Etsy member, I've noticed, big time, how helpful the community is in promoting and marketing our shops. You see, Etsy is really a shopping and sharing community built on trust. And they work hard to really help you as customers get to know who we are and what we've made, as well as, feel confident in spending your money there.  Guess you know by now, that's right up my alley! So, it had to happen that I would find a way to contribute to that family type atmosphere.

Today I'm posting just a few of my new glass images. They are nicely set in metal bezel trays that I just love. Sweet little pets are just the beginning. I will also be doing custom listings for photos of anyone you would like to have a pendant of. As well as seasonal, holiday, funny images, quotes and scripture.

communication. Even giving me great tips. 


I like to shop for supplies for all of my work right from Esty.
I have found Etsy is the best
place on the web to
to do business with.   I so love the community there already, that it just makes sense to support others on Etsy too.
And I have never been disappointed.I can't wait to see what photos come in for
the pet pendants. And start making the pendants for them.
No matter what kind of day we may be going through, having their little faces near us to look at all day reminds us that we love
and are loved unconditionally. And sometimes that may be just the boost we need to stay on track.
