Boots N Gus Revisited

Now for something completely unique!!

What's the difference between a plain old Mason jar and an awe inspiring hanging lamp? Please allow me to present my latest find. BootsNGus.

Jeff and Mark have worked together to create some wonderful and whimsical things for your vintage desires. You simply must check out their  Mason Jar Lamps, vintage housewares, books, music and prints in this fantastic shop!

Shop A Day.....Karen's Creations

It had to happen! You know I love all things paper. But my first love of it came in the form of scrapbooking.  And it's still very close to my heart for many reasons.

A million photos from generations ago. We all own them. We usually don't know much history behind them or sometimes, even who they are! But what would you give to come across something that was written by or filled with photos and information about someone you've loved in your life. Or would love to have known? What your Great Grandfather was doing, thinking or feeling when that photo was taken. Or when he saw the Grand Canyon for the first time, when he was a young man? When you weren't even here yet.Was it the same feelings and thoughts you have today?
Is that why you feel the way you do about things? Maybe you didn't know the way you value certain things, runs deep through your family? But there he is, practically talking to you from this old memory book. That's what you can give to the people you love. And it starts with simple, beautiful memory things like these.
When I make them myself, my constant struggle is figuring out how to keep things simple but still amazing and engaging.  That's just what Karen's Creations has done! Now one of my new favorite inspirations for all things paper.  Karen creates amazing scrapbooks, journals, mini memory books,  paperbag albums and so much more. Add to that, things that serves a useful purpose too! Double whammy! I love it!!
Karen's awesome creations are as interesting and beautiful to own and reminisce through, as the very things we put in them. Perfect places for our thoughts, experiences, photos, and all things worth keeping and remembering.

The faster we keep moving through life, the more I believe in these memory and photo books. The more the valuable they become, the more I want to share them. And if you own one, and watch closely, you may find how much they seem to mean to the people you share them with.
Check out Karen's Creations for her premade books and journals as well as the opportunity to have her custom make something that would be close to your heart and the hearts of the people you want to share them with.

Her wonderful style makes.....

Ring Ring, Life Calling!

Happens to us all, I think. You know the way you want to blog and work all day long everyday, but then life starts calling you on the phone all day. And if you don't answer, it knocks on the door? And if you still don't answer, it blows the door down, hinges and all and announces itself with a big ole "Didn't you hear me call you? Come out of there now! I'm falling apart out here!!!"

Well... that's what's been happening this week. But, today I'm baaccck!  And I'll be bringing you a new "Shop of the Day" in just a few minutes. Yippee! :)

So thanks for hanging in there with me and keep checking my blog and shop. There's some new and fun things coming for the holidays in the next few days.  ;)

Have a blessed day everyone,
Kim K.

Shop of the Day....Recycled Art Company

Super fun one today!!

Decisions. Decisions.  It's holiday time and I was once again, in search of a unique place to shop for gifts for men and boys. That's always the head scratcher for us no matter what occasion it is.  While in my deep quest, this great shop caught my eye.

Recycled Art Company creates awesome art from recycled license plates.  Here you will find some super creative art to delight just about anyone on your gift list. But especially neat things for the guys in your life or anyone who loves vintage . I can see one of these pieces going from a little boys room all the way to his office or garage or his favorite place to hang out at home when he grows up!

These folks have made every kind of cool thing from old license plates.
You can choose from sports, hobbies, names, pets. Whatever recipient is into Recycled Art Company probably has an art form of it. And if not, they take custom orders and you can even personlize it. How great is that!

Recycled Art Company has created eco-friendly art from salvaged materials for over 10 years. Each piece from reclaimed and recycled materials.

Their featured art is created from genuine license plates. Wood is reclaimed from old barns, fences, porches and other architectural ornaments. This mixed media combines Folk Art, Americana and Pop Culture with whimsical and imagitive spirit.

Art with history is a premise held to closely and put into each design. Each piece of art has a story they would be happy to share!

Check out more great pieces at www.recycledartco.com

Their unique approach to recycling and help with those "guy" gifts  makes..

Glue It To It

Before our Shop of the Day
How about a TIP of the Day?

Are you as frustrated as I am about which glue to use for your project? If you're anything like me, you have every glue known to man in your glue drawer and still have trouble getting things to stick together because you're just not sure which glue to use. Well guess no more.
Today I stumbled upon a tool over at www.Michaels.com  Granted I may be the last to know about this, (insert snickers & hisses here, lol), but I couldn't wait to share it with you anyway.
Finally a quick little way to find which one of the multitudes of glues out there, to use on my project.  It's called, "Glue It To It". It has 2 pull down menus of what you want to glue and what you need to glue it to. Just click here to pick em and stick em!  When you've found just the right glue or anything else you love at Michaels, click here for coupons to save on them.
Look for my Shop of the Day coming up a little bit later.
Have a great morning!
Kim K.

Shop A Day....Daisy Girl Dolls

Have you noticed lately that the big box stores are just not carrying the dolls we are looking for? What ever happened to the lovey, plushy, sweet and soft, drag around, baby dolls? It's always this time of year that I think that the most.

When my husband and I are looking for just the right doll for our granddaughter, there just aren't many sweet little dolls with personality to find these days! Seems, like most things, dolls too have gone techno on us. They all have to do something.  What a shame. But wait... Like I've said before, if you want something that you just can't find in the store, check out Etsy!  I did and look what I've found.

Daisy Girl Dolls had just the right idea for that lovey, squeezy doll we can't find in the store anymore. She has created sweet little easy to change,  dresses for them too. You can even get them in your favorite team, holiday or special occasions. She offers FREE Personalization on the doll dresses up to 8 letters. A great way to personalize your gift!
Each doll in her shop is handcrafted, one at a time in a smoke free/pet free sewing studio. Each doll has a unique facial expression design, and although each doll has the same embroidered face,  They are created with their own unique personality though color choices, hair styles, and dresses. Thus, no 2 dolls are alike.

Each of her dolls are created to be child safe and durable using materials such as hypo-allergenic stuffing, cotton yarn, cotton fabric, and professional seamstress techniques.

I encourage anyone who ever loved a doll or wants one for someone they love to check out...
